Explore laid-back global eateries and coffee shops along W. Foster and W. Bryn Mawr avenues near campus.
At North Park’s Helwig Recreation Center, you can access a wide range of fitness activities. Students should live close to campus to reduce commuting time to class, and they need reliable transportation to attend nursing clinicals. Chicago is also home to an active music scene, including Lollapalooza, the Chicago Gospel Music Festival, the Pitchfork Music Festival, jazz and blues festivals, and many live music venues and clubs.
Other can’t-miss events include Chicago Restaurant Week, ZooLights, St. Patrick’s Day (when the river is dyed green), Cubs and White Sox baseball games, and the Chicago marathon.
