  • Candidates for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in nursing.
  • All candidates for the MSN degree must have an undergraduate minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
TranscriptsOfficial transcripts from all previous schools required, via NursingCAS. North Park alumni do not need to request transcripts unless they completed college credit at other schools.

Faculty Spotlight: Laura Reckamp

Laura Reckamp is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at North Park University, where she teaches in the graduate nurse practitioner program. She brings clinical expertise in geriatrics, neurology, and stroke care to her teaching, preparing advanced practice nurses for evidence-based and compassionate care.

A certified stroke nurse and proud alumna of North Park’s MSN program, Laura transitioned into academia after being mentored by the late Trudy Dewaters, whose legacy continues to influence her teaching and mentorship.

Laura has a diverse nursing background, including emergency nursing, neurology, neurosurgery, clinical research, and infusion. She served for nine years as a stroke advanced practice nurse and has held NP roles in geriatric home care and outpatient care. She continues to practice in an outpatient setting with older adults and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at North Park University.
